Meeting Hall
On the first floor of Palazzo Asmundo di Gisira there is the living area of the structure that is characterized by the artistic dialogue established between the internal architectural details, with the reproduction of the myth of the origins of a symbolic place of the city (ie Villa Bellini), and the magnificence of the baroque beauty of the historic center. “Catania in Palazzo Asmundo and Palazzo Asmundo in Catania” is the leitmotiv of the living, with its 4 meter pink flamingo (by the famous Sicilian artist Domenico Pellegrino) that overlooks the entrance, acting as Caronte for the surprised visitor, upsetting all ordinary dynamics of a normal receptive structure.
The large terrace overlooking Piazza Mazzini is characterized by a thick vegetation that recalls the characteristic Sicilian landscapes, precisely the iconic ones narrated by Verga, D’Annunzio and Capuana, who transformed Sicily into a mythical and mystical place at the same time. It will be enough to sit among the prickly pears, jasmines and oranges, which in the summer nights emit a scent of orange blossom, to be pervaded by the flow of a magic able to drag the visitor back in time. And it is precisely by settling on the magnificent beauty of the Piazza, that the terrace pays tribute to it, allowing the visitor to live it, with a physical detachment that still allows one to see its colors and taste them.
